Applications are now open for the POLMED ESD Incubator Programme (Cohort 2)

Empowering enterprises by providing non-monetary and monetary support in a form of skills development, growth, and access to markets.

Background

POLMED is in the process of sourcing the Beneficiaries for the Enterprise and Supplier Development Incubation program with the aim of Empowering suppliers by providing non-monetary support and monetary support in the form of skills development, growth, and access to markets and potential cash grants aimed at assisting beneficiaries with growth injections. The following will be key focus areas in the development of the beneficiaries

  • Coaching and mentoring

  • Access to markets (Supplier linkages)
  • Business and technical training
  • Monthly engagement sessions and workshops
  • Create a platform for emerging suppliers to understand POLMED tendering requirements for increased supplier pipeline and improved tender success rate.
  • Gain access to a digital platform which has a host of benefits
  • Professionalization of their businesses

Mandatory Criteria

1. Required Documents

  • A BBBEE Certificate/Sworn Affidavit
  • A SARS PIN
  • CIPC Registration document 
  • Letter of Good Standing (COIDA)
  • Financial Statements/Management Accounts/Company Bank Statement for the last 12 Months

2. Conditions of Participation

  • Participation must be willing to come for an interview and conduct a needs analysis.
  • Must be willing to sign the Enterprise Development Agreement with POLMED.
  • Must be willing & have the capacity to dedicate time to the programme.
  • Provide all documents that might be required by POLMED.
  • Late submission of proposal will be disqualified.

3. Detailed Requirements

  • EMEs whose turnover is more than R30 000 and less than R10 000 000 per annum and at least one client in the last 12 months.
  • QSE’s whose turnover is between R10 000 000 and R50 000 000 per annual.
  • EMEs who are tax compliant relative to the reported turnover per annum.
  • EME which is at least 51% owned by black people.

Objective Criteria

  •  The POLMED reserve the right not to consider proposals from ESD beneficiaries who are currently in litigation with the POLMED.
  •  The POLMED further reserve the right not to appoint any ESD beneficiary who are blacklisted or have committed other acts of fraud and misrepresentation of facts e.g., tax complianceBBBEEcompany financials, etc. Will be eliminated from the process.
